I am a fully trained and qualified counsellor, accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, MBACP and Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Primary Care (CPC) together with being on the Register of Counsellors (UKRC).
These associations demand that counsellors work to their Code of Ethics, which I do, and they include having continual supervision regarding cases I am working on, but I NEVER reveal your name or identifying details.
I also have continual lectures and workshops to attend. These demands ensure that you are always having the best attention. I trained in several theoretical methods, including psychodynamic, person centred and solution therapy. I adapt whichever I feel will be most beneficial.
Prior to my counselling career I spent many years in business. This helps me to be aware of the pressures in the commercial and professional enviroment. The expectations, uncertainties and stresses of working alone or in a team can take their toll on any individual and eventually on their relationships.
After my training I worked in four very busy surgeries taking referrals for people of all ages, from different backgrounds and with very differing issues. I also worked for the borough who trained me for Bereavement counselling, understanding how loss has its impact on the survivor in all forms of shock, guilt, and even relief.
